Buffered Peptone Water (500g/Bottle)
- Use: Pre-enrichment of Salmonella spp.
- Characteristics: Pre-enrichment of the culture media is performed using buffered peptone water to increase target concentration and improve sensitivity
- Principle:
- Peptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources to meet the needs of bacterial growth.
- Sodium chloride maintains osmotic equilibrium.
- Potassium dihydrogen phosphate and disodium hydrogen phosphate act as buffers.
- Instructions:
Suspend 20 g in 1 liter of distilled water. Bring to the boil to dissolve completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Pour into sterile petri plates. Dry the surface of the gel before inoculation.
- Storage: Keep container tightly closed, store in a cool, dry place, away from bright light. Storage period of 3 years.
